Clean Water Systems

Our partner, Smart Paani, is installing biosand filters to purify water for all 50 schools. The effects of purified water for the children and community are immediate and long lasting. The system will provide surplus water for the students to take home to their families. Where there is no reliable water source, we will provide water harvesting for the schools and community.

Our partner, MPOWERD, will be providing inflatable solar lights for home use to help extend the hours available to study for the kids.
Many of the schools are already on the public solar grid, and will receive electricty for computer and internet. For those schools who need it, our partner One Planet Solution will be working to solve this issue.

Introduction of IT in schools!
We are very happy to be partnering with OLE Nepal to bring more than 8,000 books in an e-library along with a plethora of new syllabi to the teachers and classrooms. All this in an effort to reduce the educational gap present in rural areas that puts these children at a disadvantage. We have begun our pilot program at a secondary school in Kirtipur incorporating Raspberry Pi’s as the computer system. Exciting roads ahead.
WaSH
As each permanent school comes on line, we will provide Unicef’s iniative, WaSH, (Water, Sanitiaton, Hygiene) training as well as basic first aid to the teachers and students. There are numerous misconceptions about basic health and hygiene that ultimately keep the children away from school that can be resolved with health education.
