‘Kids of Kathmandu’ is established with a belief that a comprehensive approach to quality education is one of the most fundamental ways to improve the future of the children of Nepal. ‘Kids of Kathmandu’ has been committed to creating a solid foundation for the marginalized and vulnerable groups of children so that they can grow into responsible, productive, and thoughtful individuals, finding their own true potential.
Project background:
The gap that exists between teaching-learning styles of private and public schools is undeniable. The major reason why the gap exists is the persistence of public school teachers in using traditional passive learning models. Another reason why public schools lag behind in good results is due to the absence of qualified teachers.
We offer a digital platform to the students where they are exposed to some of the best teachers in Nepal. We develop video content as teaching materials that focus on subjects, like mathematics and science, that students often struggle with getting good grades. This project targets public school students who are still unfamiliar with the use of technology in the classroom and helps them learn during the absence of teachers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social work, business administration, or related fields. A masters’ degree is preferable.
- At least 2 years of experience in the field of education.
- Strong knowledge of computer skills mainly focusing on Microsoft packages.
- Strong command of English and Nepali language.
- Experience of working in international culture is a plus.
- Working experience with children is highly desirable.

- Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Write proposals and reports as per requirements.
- Design and implement workshops and training for teachers and students.
- Communicate, coordinate and report with donors, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Traveling to several parts of the country as per requirements.
- Willingness to work with school students and develop strategies to solve problems.

- At least Bachelor’s degree in Finance – Accounting or relevant field
- At least 2 years of working experience in related field
- Strong attention to details
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work in a team as well as work independently
- Preferably proficiency of using Tally Software
- Decent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt and learn new software
- Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain a filing system for important and confidential company documents
- Managing and maintaining daily bookkeeping
- Petty cash management
- Reconciling financial activities(Bank/petty cash)
- Producing a budget v/s actual for each of the running project on a monthly basis
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and other financial related issues
- Ensure the company is compliant to Tax liabilities
- Coordinating with project team lead for monthly payroll
- Prepare and disseminate periodic financial reports as per the requirement from the grant providers
- Arrange travel and accommodations
- Support with SWC project approval work and the annual organization renew work
- Coordinate with vendors/service providers
- Coordinate with the project team to fulfill fiscal reporting requirements
- Coordinate and consolidate financial operations with project team on a weekly basis
- Being a point of contact for reconciling team budgets
- Coordinate with auditor to clarify confusions regarding financial processes
- Understanding and implementing the reporting systems for different grant providers
- Support with project budgeting for new projects
